UPDATE: Opening of school
Department for Education
Further to my letter before half-term, I can confirm that secondary schools will NOT be more widely open on 1.6.20. All of our previous arrangements for offering emergency care for key workers ‘children and those who are vulnerable, will continue. Should you require this provision for the period 1-12.6.20, please book your place in the usual way.
All other students must continue to stay at home and access our remote learning until further notice. Year 10 and 12 students will have access to their planned one to one session by telephone, at the time already agreed from 2.6.20.
From 15.6.20, Year 10 and 12 students will take part in our on-site provision as arranged by Mrs. Tipping. This will supplement their ongoing remote learning activities, not replace them. Mrs Tipping will write to Year 10 and Year 12 parents outlining the arrangements for some on-site teaching/tutorials for students during the course of next week.
You will receive further details regarding the health, safety and behaviour required, for students to return to the school site.
I must stress that students must avoid meeting up in groups on their way to and from school; must avoid catching public transport (there may be very few buses) and must go straight home once dismissed. Please find the link here to the Governments guidelines on travel especially using public transport. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/stay-alert-and-safe-social-distancing-guidance-foryoung-people
All of this is subject to ongoing government advice. Thank you for your support.
