(Year 13 Graduation, 2023)
Students start looking at employment/apprenticeship/university options from Easter of Year 12. They are all encouraged to visit as many university open days as possible. Information is provided both verbally, in hard copies and on various websites including the school’s own website. Visiting speakers from universities are introduced during the General Studies programme.
We are very proud of our an annual careers/employment fair where the school hosts 40 different organisations including the Russell Group universities who spend the day here talking to and advising and motivating students from every year group. Parents also attend and have provided very positive feedback. Parents are invited to discuss freely their ideas and ambitions for their daughter or son.
Students are also given time on various Enhancement Days to complete their UCAS applications and/or CVs and undertake mock interviews.
Oxbridge candidates are also provided with a programme of support on this occasion including mock interviews by the Head Teacher and the relevant Head of Subject.
Information is given to students relating to BMAT or LNAT admission tests should they be required.
Each year some students opt for apprenticeship programmes or gap years. We have a very useful website called Unifrog which guides students through the apprenticeship programme.
Our current leavers destination percentages are as follows:
72.5% - University (Including University of Sheffield, University of Surrey, University of Westminster, London South Bank University and University of Nottingham)
2% - Apprenticeships
20.5% - Employment
We have uploaded details of our leavers' destinations including courses accepted on our website.
