South London Oxford and Cambridge Application Conference

The South London Application Conference is open to students from across Bexley and Bromley, Croydon and Greenwich who are interested in making an application to Oxford or Cambridge. The event will be run by Mansfield College, Oxford with Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and hosted at Chislehurst School for Girls,

All Year 12 state school students in Bexley, Bromley, Croydon and Greenwich are invited to attend. The sessions will cover the admissions process, including information about how to explore your subject and what we are looking for in a personal statement.

Programme

• 15.00-15.30 Introductory Talk: Applying to Oxford or Cambridge
• 15.30-16.30 Workshop 1: Exploring your subject
• 16.30-16.45 Break
• 16.45-17.45 Workshop 2: Writing your personal statement
• 17.45- 6pm Plenary and close

Who can attend?

This conference is open to Year 12 students attending state schools in Bexley, Bromley, Croydon and Greenwich. Students can book to attend unaccompanied with the agreement of their parents / carers. If teachers would to bring a group of students please email Sara Harb access.officer@mansfield.ox.ac.uk . We welcome applications from all students and will prioritise high-achieving students with a widening participation background (e.g. Free School Meals, living in care etc).

Deadline: 5 pm on Thursday 24 February. Participants will be informed on Friday 25 February.
