BackGCSE English Resources
Parents/ Carers,
I would like to bring your attention to some of the resources available to help your daughter with her GCSE English Language and Literature studies.
Suitable revision tasks to complete during the summer holidays include re-reading her Literature texts, (‘An Inspector Calls’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’) and using revision websites.
Students can also use revision websites such as those created by ‘Mr Bruff’. The link below goes to one of ‘Mr Bruff’s’ instructional videos on Question One, Paper One English Language:
BBC Bitesize is also very useful, for English GCSE revision:

Students can also visit the AQA website for advice and revision resources. The link below goes to the Shakespeare element of the GCSE Literature paper:

Please note that your daughter will need a copy of ‘A Christmas Carol’ to read over the summer holidays, so that she is ready to begin studying it in class in September. Any unabridged copy of the text is permissible for use in class. However, the copy that we recommend is:
‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, (unabridged) ISBN 13: 978-1978194960
